Well then, things had really started to shape up with the second installment in the series. I think this is a little cryptic for the main game.
I also did not like the fact that you had to find a secret item to continue on with the game on the Wily stage 1, I was confused as to what to do, I had to go online to find out I needed a special weapon found on Elec man's stage, but you had to unlock Gut man's weapons first. There were certain other niggles I had with the game such as, if you were invincible after taking damage from an enemy and you had a collision with the spikes then you were dead, this is the only Megaman game to have this and it sucked. I don't know, I don't think there are any that particularly stand out and grab me as being totally awesome in the first game, I'll say Elecman, he just seems pretty badass I guess.īest Music was Bomb man I thought, I liked Iceman too, none were as good as other games but still a good soundtrack. Yeah I call them Bobo masters because I'm a complete idiot, but never mind. Iceman without fail, it was hard enough to learn the disappearing block patterns which I didn't mind but that wasn't the worst of it, there was a section with floating platforms that you had to jump across whilst avoiding their horizontal projectiles and land on slippy platforms, it was just awful and it felt unfair, one hit and you fell to your doom, it took me a ridiculous amount of tries to do this but I got it in the end with an almighty fist pump! I felt good when avoiding the spurting fire walls on Fireman's stage and Bomb man's stage had good flow to it, but I think Fire man wins because of the visual style of the stage.
It had to be Fire man for me or maybe Bomb man, I just felt like they had the best balance and they had good music. So I am just going to do some quick snaps of the best and worst bits of the games and a quick overall summary. I would like to do a detailed report on every level and every aspect of the games but there is a hell of a lot to go through and I don't want it to become tiresome and boring even for people reading.
It is a little rough around the engines in comparison to other games in the series but it's still a worthy contender. This game came out in 1987, the same year I was born and it still holds up well today. I'm only going to be looking at the side scrolling platform games and I'm not paying any attention to the battle network series or legends or anything like that. I decided to start the Megaman marathon with the classic NES series to begin with and began with the first game in the series, the one that started it all, the one that started a series which now has over 100 titles. OK so here it goes, I will do a quick run down of each one that I have finished so far, some pro's and con's and maybe a quick little review, heck I might even do a little YouTube video on each one eventually. I tried countless times, the devs definitely DID NOT want you to see the end credits, that's for dam sure!
I'm sorry but the last boss was freaking impossible, his projectiles NEVER MISSED! I had to use a save state engine, which I hate doing -.- but there was no other way for me. The other is the price of the original cartridges.Īnyway I've just finished number 7 and for the first time I have.
The first is to make screen capture easy as I only have equipment to record PC or Xbox. I will play most using an emulator on the PC for two reasons. I'm going to do every single game in the series, well I plan to, that includes the fan made ones too. I absolutely love the games, they mean so much to me, it's the music, the robot masters, the challenge, the choice, I don't know I can't describe why I adore these games so much but I do. I will do very short reviews on each game, including screen shots, and my best and worst bits of the games. Ok well I'm still carrying on my Megaman marathon and enjoying every minute of it, I will get back to work on my Unity game when this is over! But for now, I'm just taking some time out and enjoying some Megaman and blogging about it, as playing it just didn't feel like enough justice to the series.
